A deviation from my usual preparation of lamb burgers: no mint, just chopped green (or spring if you prefer, Anyardsroad) onions and garlic mixed in, and on top, some artisan créme fraîche with herbs from the Cowgirl Creamery, that I got at this past weekend’s farmers market. I also tried microwaving the yam instead of baking it in the oven, and it was just as good, and done in 5 minutes flat instead of taking two hours. Seasoning was five-spice powder, granulated garlic and butter. The salad was all stuff from the farmers market as well- escarole, mustard greens, endives, tomatoes, orange peppers, watermelon radishes, and cucumbers topped off with a balsamic vinaigrette. For dessert, I treated myself to a chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting.
