We picked the first squash of the season from the garden and J sautéed it simply with some fresh basil also from the garden. He also made breaded pork chops and saffron rice, while I made a salad of frisée and endives with sweet peppers and a variety of cherry tomatoes and green onions, tossed with a vinaigrette made with lots of garlic and more fresh basil. Nothing better than fresh from the garden to the cutting board to the table!
