I wandered up to the local farmers market for the first time in several weeks and picked up a bunch of things I hadn’t gotten this weekend, including some fresh, in the shell English peas, bell peppers, and some nice, seedy sandwich bread. Using chicken breasts that I already had, and some Campbells cream of mushroom soup, I made a kind of Chicken a la king, with a bunch of fresh veggies from both farmers markets, including the peas, a yellow pepper, a whole large ramp bulb with greens, a portabella mushroom, some baby carrots, and a bunch of ground black pepper. The salad was a mix of lettuce, mustard greens and spinach, with orange sweet 100 cherry tomatoes, avocado, cucumber, kohlrabi, green onions and Italian dressing. And dessert was more strawberries with yuzu syrup over ice cream.
The roses are from my garden… MMmmm, I love spring!
