We are almost halfway through British Sausage Week 2009. Tonight we attempted a classic British sausage-based dish, toad in the hole, with onion gravy.

Made according to, of course, the first recipe that came up on Google, this actually turned out pretty good for our first shot at anything involving the whole flour-milk-egg scenario (although admittedly the toads were more ‘on’ than ‘in’ the holes, and it came quite close to being a sausage cake towards the middle).
