My friend A picked up fried chicken from Lake Merritt bakery and made some biscuits and green beans. So good. K made a chocolate pie with cinnamon whipped cream and an unbelievably good graham cracker crust. I had a really big piece! Oh, and there was champagne with just a touch of peach bitters. Yum.

Ah, the language issue
They were American biscuits: http://www.chitterlings.com/biscuits.html. Some folks were eating them with honey but plain worked just fine for me!
Mmmm biscuits and fried chicken!
My mother made the most amazing, melt-in-your-mouth baking-powder biscuits from scratch. Of course, bein’ workin’ class, we dropped the “g” in “Baking,” and I always wondered why there was no bacon in the bacon-powder biscuits.
