After a frustrating afternoon of missed calls, long waits and chilly winds, I was finally heading back into Tokyo when Tod & I outlined a plan for dinner. I would meet him at his office when my train got in. Unfortunately, my phone battery was dying and we couldn’t make much more of a plan than that. So I arrived at 8 pm, eked out one more “I’m here” phone call, and was escorted by my darling to the basement of the building next door where there is a pretty decent Sanuki udon restaurant.
I ate my fill of udon along with tempura mushrooms, lotus and burdock root. Plus a tomato salad and some beer. Steaming hot noodles and fried foods put me into a better frame of mind after a long day. Now a cup of tea and a warm bed will make me truly content.
