I was called in to work on a video yesterday which turned out to have a very short deadline, so I ate dinner at the office. As usual, we ordered in from Fanders and I got the “crispy fried tuna bento” which is one of the few meals on the menu that doesn’t have red meat or chicken in it. There are no vegetarian options at all.
One reason to love this bento is the wide assortment of things in it. The eponymous tuna is paired with shredded cabbage, lettuce, sweet and sour dipping sauce, white rice sprinkled with black sesame seeds, potato salad, pickled daikon radish, soy-simmered root vegetables, boiled rapini, and a slice of sweet egg omelet.
Energised by my rare fish consumption, I completed the video by 10:30 pm. Can’t say it was a work of art, but I think it met the client’s requirements.
